I have a tail gate/rear gate for a 64 (?) through 73 (?) that is available for anyone who wants it. It came off the '69. The vertical lip (that the seal goes in) is fine. There is rust on the "shelf". 10-15 pinholes or slightly larger. Shelf metal is thin. I got an entire new gate, painted it to match (sort of) and installed it.

I also have the glass which is in fine shape. The defroster wires do not work (most do not).

The gate is **free** to anyone who wants it.
The glass I'll take $20 for. Needless to say, no shipping on either.

Pictures will come when I can get to the Mac with a real keyboard and a mouse.

Do you mean "hatch" instead of "tail gate"? :???:

If you do, I'll take them! If nothing else I can use it as wall art.

Sorry, yes it is the hatch.

SOLD!

I'll be in touch next week about delivery.

(People on the Samba are asking $70-120 for the hatch glass, but how in the &^%$ do you ship that stuff?)

Ship schmip!

Best to bring it to the swaps.

I’ve yet to measure the hatch, but the glass is the same exact dimension of a split bus one.

Glass and hatch are the same for early Bay and later (64+??) split. Latch may be different but they use the same hatch seal.

Someone else suggest two big pieces of styrofoam taped up, and then a layer (or two) of cardboard around the foam.

I have a phatchick latch on the Dormy. It has the “trigger” to open it from the inside. :-P
