I drove the bus today as usual. To the gym, ran a couple of errands. It ran fine and stopped fine. The rust at various places is getting worse. I really need to do something (or decide it is time to cut and run) very soon.

finished bolting up the beam in the SC and started working on getting the trans in the SC. Ran into a problem that the reduction box has a broken bolt in it on one side the other side has been hit with something making it impossible to get a tap or bolt in there.

Also started working on the camper's sway bar bushing replacement. Had one side break loose.

so was working on the transmission that is to go in the SC. I cross threaded one hole that bolts to the spring plate. I fixed that later then I broke an easy out trying to get a broken bolt out of another hole that bolts to the spring plate. If anyone has some tips or would like to help me out, please let me know.

So since I was not in the mood anymore to work on the trans, I started on the SO42. I fixed the dinning table since the screws came out of one side. Then I finally finished make the cross bar for the tent that goes above the roof. Man what a difference it makes in how tight the top is when that bar is there. So the only thing left to do is find something to cover the back window so we have privacy in the bus.

In one week I will be camping with the whole family. This will be interesting on how the wife likes (or hates) camping in the bus.

The EZ out is harden steel so there’s only a couple of was to get it out. Grinding, which will take for ever or weld a short bolt to it. Welding will also help in loosening up the bolt stuck in side. Now all you need is a portable welder.

Or he could take it to a welding shop or call a welder on wheels!

The problem is that the bolt is broken inside the hole which makes it impossible to weld anything to it. I would think. It is about 1/3 of the way in.

Thanks Ivan. That is what I was thinking.

So last Monday took the trans to Black Oxide in San Marcos to have the bolt removed. Called today and they still haven't touched the trans. It might come down to me taking the trans out of the camper to slap in the single to get rid of the SC.

Anyone have an extra tube with box laying around?

Now I admit I am old and not in tune with the crazy lingo of today's youth, but what exactly is this that you speak of?

Just run three bolts, I've done it for decades on one of my buses.

I just might do that. This place still has yet to call me.

Look, iffin it’s just one bolt, just drill it out and go with the next size bigger. You’ll have to “open up” the hole on the torsion plate too but it’ll be just the one. I’ve done that before with more than just one hole.

An insert will do too! :???:

The problem Ivan is that I broke the easy out in it. Drilling that is impossible (already tried). I should have just drilled out the bolt in the first place instead of trying to actually remove the broken bolt.

Anyways the broken bolt is the one solo bolt and not one of the 3 in a row bolts. Will this matter? Either way I am going to get the trans today and just install it. I am out of time. Damn you procrastination!!!! ](*,)
