From the website FAQ:
Quote:
Megatracks start at $75,000 and are priced based on size, complexity, and scenic elements.

but damn are they sweet! =P~

This one is a bit more affordable, at a mere $2,495 (plus $245 S&H):

Slot car tracks are so high tech now. The place I posted you can get a scale version of Riverside Raceway or your favorite track anywhere in the world and the cars don't have to follow slots. WHAT? That right, they imbed the "thing that powers the car", under the surface of the track so you can change lanes and pass in tight corners. It is amazing. It is just like real racing.

Around 4th-6th grades I loved slot cars. Both HO and 1/24 (or maybe 1/32) scale. Cheap, accessible, fun. I had this Ferrari model with a wimpy motor. I saved up allowances to buy a monster motor, used twist wires to "mount" it in the chassis and blew most evereyone off the track. It was grand. Until the track (and the 3 others in La Mesa at that time) closed.

Hey Fish, when you get rid of those CNC machines why not build a big track in your garage? Much more fun than silly trains. I'll contribute.

I've seen the room and the rumors are true!! I might even have photos. I'll try to find them on my hard drive this weekend.

(Freaked me out with that "too bad he's dead" comment for a brief second! )
