Louis.... =D>

Fuel pump rod... =D> and maybe damaged dist. drive gear.

BTW the pump in the sand belongs in the sand :-&

After a 100 mile tow put in an electric fuel pump and back on the road!

I'm putting an electric fuel pump in my emergency supplies bag.

been told to much pressure with the fuel pump. shaft put pressure on the dist drive shaft gear and it had premature ware.. not good for premature..... you know! I did not test the pressure on my NEW fuel pump before I installed it!
All this being said..an electric back up fuel pump will be in my bag of tricks from now on!!!

In my all things gone bad experience I've never seen that wear either! :shock:

On the electric pump, I keep one as an emergency spare and treat it just like them "bicycle" spare tires. You only use it to get out of a jam. Soon as you get home, it's time to correct the problem, not keep riding the "spare". :roll:

So, the pump had too much tension and put too much stress on the drive gear?? Was it a Brazilian pump? One of those sealed units?
