I have a couple cars that need VIN verification, does anyone know anybody who does this for a reasonable rate in SD?

any police officer can do it, you can get the form online or from DMV.
Tow it to a police station, DMV, or ? fire some weapons off in the back yard, when the cops show up, deny firing the weapons but ask him,"while your here could you........?"

If you go to the CHP,make sure you get someone that knows what they are doing. Pat Struck took his bug to CHP and when the guy asked if the engine was matching and Pat said no well that sent the guy through a loop since to verify, they have to match. He didn't understand how VW engines work and how easy it is to swap them out. So careful what you say.

Yes, but if you have a "car" guy CHP, then it is super easy...

BUT... be careful with the SCREW in M code plate.. Some of those guys don't like it... even though they don't understand it was stock.

...all reasons why I want to avoid the "Po-Po." There are services out there but they charge $30/vehicle plus time for driving there
