in wiring diagrams posted on samba and other sites it uses german/european/metric wire codes for wire size. if installing a new wire harness no problem,but if you only wish to replace a wire or more and are unsure of what size AWG (american) wire size then here is cross reference..

0.5 = 20 awg
0.85 = 18 awg
1.0 = 16 awg
2.0 = 14 awg
3.0 = 12 awg
5.0 = 10 awg
8.0 = 8awg

In AWG wiring size the smaller the number ,the larger the wire diameter. 10 awg is bigger than 16 awg for example.. if you see 1.5 which falls between 16awg and 14 awg then i would go with 14 awg for less resistance.. hope this helps.
