Anyone have a porta power in San Diego I can borrow? Some maniac crushed in the seat base on my '58 and I cannot hammer it out. Harbor Freight has them for $90, but if someone has one I could borrow I would appreciate it.

Just call me baffled, but what is a porta power? I did a search on the HF site using "porta power" and did not come with anything.

My dad has one but he lives in Pomona and is currently in NY. Also it is somewhere in his garage which means I would need his help finding it. How soon you looking to use it?

Dang, I need it right away because I can't weld the bulkhead in until I straighten out the pedestal. Guess I will be going to HF today. Thanks anyway.

will you also be taking pics for the NL? I for one would like to see your work regardless of the "reviews" you get.

Not sure why its not working. If you go to the welding thread I have it posted there and it works fine.

Just a FYI for you all.

Enco is another cheep machine and tool alternative to check out besides Harbor Freight. Mail order unless you live in Fernley, Nevada.

Thanks Fish but I already got one at HB, it was only $89 and works great, comes with a a lot of extensions and various tips. If anyone ever dares to do any body work (Mr Bill May, Esq. King of Hobartia and Duke of Miller) I have one to lend out now  I guess that would make me a full on "Slack Member"

I figured you did Dan, but thought I post Enco as another source for others looking for inexpensive tools.

Like say you wanted to buy a dial incator for setting the end play on your motor. They have indacators and magnet bases for under $50. Of course you can buy the expensive ones too if you wanted.

You are always welcome to come over and use my driveway to weld up Kermit's holes. I have a 220V outlet in case you don't want to use the $89 welder

BTW, who's this "William" guy?? Didn't he use to have a running single cab with a fixation on chrome??
