I know we get a discount from these guys, but in all good consciousness I think it is important to warn fellow club members about this outfit. There is a huge thread on the Samba about them under feedback but here is my own personal experience which I just posted on the Samba:

I've waited to post my BFY horror story until it was all resolved which it finally was yesterday when I received my final credit on my credit card. It all started back in June '08 when I ordered a rubber cargo mat and steering wheel for my '65 Bus project. I should have known something was up because no one else (WW, CIP, etc) had the rubber mats in stock and WW, the manufacturer was out, and the wheels were priced about $30 less than Kochs. Anyway, I ordered and after not receiving anything called about three weeks later to be told that the items were on the way. i will spare the details as this ruse has been covered repeatedly, but after being told several times that the items were coming I canceled the rubber mat and received a credit right away but kept the order on the wheel as I was told Koch makes them and were back ordered and my wheel was done and was awaiting "color sanding." Well, after two months of run around I canceled that as well. I then asked for a refund and that was back in December. Oddly enough, I went to OCTO in February of this year and bought a wheel from Kochs who has them in stock, so BFY was basically lying out their a**. But nothing new there. I will never order from them again after this experience.

You are evidently not the only one. The Dramba has 22 pages on one forum topic relegated to BFY:

I stopped going to BFY over a year ago. They never had what I wanted. I always was told they would have it in a couple days but they never got it. I would never give them any money in advance. Deep down inside I never trusted BFY.

I, too, had a run-in with BFY. I sat down with Darren in his office when he implied that I was always in there trying to get something for nothing. I explained that I do business with a variety of suppliers and never have I tried to get anything that I was not entitled to. If they say they will back a product, then I go back if it fails. If the problem is not related to what I bought, then I just fork out the money and pay them. We went round and round. :smt014

When I asked for the discount on parts that they committed to for our club, I was given the story that they couldn't honor the 10% because their markup was so low that they couldn't make any money. Oh, come on now.

I'm going to go out on a limb on this one and say BFY is not what they used to be.

Didn't we, as a club, take a tour and learned how to replace the seal on a windwing a number of years ago? :???:

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I used BFY to replace the inner seal for my vent window, rather than try and press the glass in myself. The price was right, they did a good job, and the turn around time was quick.

That's too bad. I've had nothing but good experiences with BFY. And I've been a customer since the '70s.

Yes we did, back in 01 or 02 I think.

Have not had any experience with BFY (pro or con), but after reading the thread on TS it seems that there have been major changes in the past year or two that have led to the current sad situation.

I'm also one of the many who was screwed by them for over $200.
