Jeff Denham is going to build me another set of heads. 1914 with kadrons is what i am building for kermit. says "3 weeks" and then i can get it together and be able to climb hills,go on long trips, and just generally keep up with the stroker guys.. my engine case was done by Clyde Berg and is full flow machined. i have a gene berg 28MM blueprinted oil pump, dog house setup for cooling from a 73 super beetle and last but not least- sig erson bus grind cam shaft. i picked up the front sway-bar clamps and stuff, and got the rear clamps that used to be included in the clamp kit from Wolfsburg West, from WW employee (they are N.O.S.) that i have been looking for for 3 years. 1966 and 67 buses had sway bars from factory, but i have a 1965 and it is direct bolt-on to 65 and older. good modification for safety. next i am saving for Kymco brake shoes that are semi metallic as i can't save enough bucks for desired front disc brakes yet.

Woo hoo! That is great news. Kermit will now fly. (Wait, can frogs fly?)

At this rate I may be one of the few remaining stock engines in SV2s.

Suh-weeeet!

Glad to hear that the big K will be getting the love it deserves, 1915 is my preferred engine size.

Someday I'll have another one :grin:

(I don't know why people call it a 1914, when the math works out as:

Piston Size = 94mm
Stroke = 69mm
displacement = 3.14159 * (9.4cm/2)^2 * 6.9cm * 4 = 1915.377cc )

Nevermind, I figured it out, if you use the routine abbreviaton for Pi (rounded to two decimal places), 3.14, the displacment would end up as 1914.408cc, in reality there is almost one full more cubic centimeter of volume when using 4 or 5 decimal place rounding...

1914cc, 1915cc whatever the 94X69 option is stout if you ask me.

Greg,
Thanks for the exact numbers. I've been blindly referring to my engine size as 1914 because I didn't have the exact factors used to determine the size. Somewhere I picked up the 1914 and it stuck in my mind. (I usually carry out 4-5 places.) I will now refer to my engine as a 1915 and feel like I really know what I'm talking about. At least I'll be able to keep up the illusion anyway.
With the right gearing, the 1914/1915 is a healthy combination. Enjoy, Bill.

Was that a typo? 30 mpg or 30 mph?....Just kidding. I like my bus' performance with the big motor, but I miss the mileage it once got.There's always a trade-off.
