It’s Teflon.

Anyway, took it for a shake down cruise. Dry!

Will check again tomorrow morning. 8-[

Teflon tape really isn't teflon, it's some sort of plastic material and dissolves in gasoline. Just put some in a container of gas and watch it shrivel up like balls in winter.
If it leaks again, which hopefully it won't, there is this stuff which is formulated for the nasty gas they sell today.

Good to know Mr. Dan.

I found this info:
"To choose the appropriate thread sealant, look for it's chemical resistance to fuel (diesel or gasoline)
or oil running through the line. Backyard mechanics will tell you they've used regular
old gas resistant teflon tape (yellow stuff) with success. This is not recommended because it risks breaking free."

I have used "Permatex PermaShield" gasket sealer.
"Permatex PermaShield Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing and Sealant is a polyester urethane sealant with
strong resistance to gasoline and all other automotive fluids, making it excellent for a variety of applications,
including oil pans, axle assemblies and fuel injectors."

You can use "RectorSeal®" you know,... if your rector has a leak!!

FWIW, even with the ray of “Sunshine”, it was dry this morning! Will be going to paint shortly.

Just to get a quote for the paint job, they wanted to see it up close instead of just pictures. So we ended up driving it "as is" all the way to the sports arena area! :-/

You don't really appreciate having a windshield until you drive on the freeway without one!

Safaries are different in that you get to adjust them as needed. I had to keep it around 50mph and even when nobody was in front of me I kept feeling all kinds of stuff hitting my face! :smt012

Not to mention driving it without plates on! 8-[

We had it towed back to my place.

Some shop around there, and I took it, not him. But it was his second choice. The guy took notes and will come up with a quote for the owner to decide. If he takes it, it "may" be done after the first of the year. :???:

The place looks like they do good work but as any other, it is very busy with plenty of work in progress. Do you think you could take on the paint on it? :-k

A friend of Dan's painted mine about 10 years ago. His price was good and so was his work. If he still paints and Dan has is info, he's worth getting a quote from.

Got in touch with Ricardo, Sergio's friend. Says he could do it within a few weeks. It's now up to Jonathan, the bus owner, but he is okay with that since he'd like to have it sooner than later. Not to mention that after paint I still have to put it all together too! :-s

I hope you are charging by the hour and union rate. That's a butt ton of tedious work.
I stopped using Johnny his work went downhill like most painters.

Though it was an original white over blue bus, at some point his Dad had it painted orange. Being a family inheritance, he wants to keep it the same.
