I kind of wondered if you had a personal connection with the shiny green bus.......

Today I saw a 1963 flipseat westfalia on craigslist, I don't know how to post the link?
$8500 in Seattle but looks OK, has the same back door on it and a sub hatch.

That is a much better bus Chris, more in my price range and a lot closer than Monterey CA. The big plus is you can see what is under before all that shinny paint. I know what's under all that shinny paint on the other bus.

Dan- I really dought that bus was done right and anyone who knows anything about buses would NOT pay that. I feel bad for the soon to be poor smuck who buys it at that price.

Joe- Why? Is Sergio selling his?

I'm a bus guy. Will always be a bus guy, so I'm always looking. More later.

Thing is there are a lot of people who do not know anything about buses spending big money on them, especially the few shiny ones that are out there. I am in the process of doing a correct restoration on a unique standard (SO-22 Mosaic) that came with nearly all of its usable interior. I imagine I will have nearly $14k into it when it is done and I do nearly all the work myself (with the exception of final bodywork and paint). Shiny buses are always going to sell for high dollar because of the costs.

I must say your SO-22 Mosaic is looking good. I am amazed at all the work you have done on it.

Anyone who would like to see what Dan has done check out his thread on The Samba,

This resto was not for the faint of heart, Great work Dan.!! I think I may stop by next week to check things out.

,

You are always welcome to stop by Chris.

I just noticed the plate?
Is it really Brunnie? It does have a Bay window tank, the cabinets look close to what you had.
I am impressed :-o =D>

It's a small bus world.
Yes, That's Brunie. and not just the plate, but the entire bus for sure. What I'm really wondering is how much is metal replacement and how much is bondo? I do think there must be a lot of bondo on her. Using a stealthy accompanist I tried to get more pictures, but the seller says he only has a couple of more of the underside of her and he has not sent them yet.

The windows were covered up, as well as the hacked bulkhead behind the front seats. How "well" was the job done is the key question,no? :-k

Not to mention how bad it was underneath, which only the previous owner would truly know!

Like I know just about every inch of all my cars, the good the bad and the ugly! Whereas most everyone else who "knows" your car, only know what can easily be seen.

Actually the underside frame and belly pans are in really good shape. No rusted out areas like the body.
