Alright, as some of you have already seen, we get constantly BOMBARDED with spam and posts that at a minimum are intended to peddle drug websites, gambling, and other somewhat benign items, but at worst expose anyone browsing here with some of the sickest forms of smut and gore. :?

Putting it in the most plain and simple form: SUCH EXPOSURE IN THIS HERE WEBSITE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!

Anyone that has a "need" for any of the sort, is free to go look elsewhere for it. We do not even have a "rants&rave" area as thesamba.com does, so the same applies with that!

Now here is where I am requesting the help of every Strictly Vintage 2s member, including "active", "inactive", and all those just plain registered members on these forums. Your cooperation with this will help tremedously in keeping your website as it is intended, a family oriented site! 8)

Whenever you spot an "offending" post, look up on the top right corner of it and you will see a button that says "IP". Click on it and you'll see a number like 68.203.75.109 or something similar. Note this number down and send a "pm"(private message) to David or me with this number. This is the most effective way to prevent a spammer from directing their spam to our website since we can ban it at the source.

The other way you can help out is by NOT "clicking" on ANY link either posted or related in any way to the guest or registered "member"!!! You see, some of these spammers actually do register as "members" in order to just peddle their sites as linked to their "name". For example, you may notice a "new member" to the site with an inocent name as John M, but no posts yet from him. However, if you click on his name you'll see he also has a website or his email address will route you to a domain where he is peddling his stuff. Again, DO NOT go in there or send an email to them! You never know if it is safe to do so and it could actually "drop a malign bug" into your computer. :o

Wth that said, the same applies here as in do send us a "pm" with this info and we will take care of it ASAP!

Most of these "new" registered members you probably haven't even seen because we are almost constantly on top of it. However, some do slip through and we don't catch them for a while. Your help is very much appreciated! :)

I know this may sound sarcastic, but, thank you for standing on the wall for us, Pyro and David, and keeping the website free and clean. I know it is a lot of extra effort of which you are known for.

I second Barry's nod to both Pyro and David. Thanks for all you do, guys!

Looks like we've been able to keep NASTY stuff out with the new, e-mail activated by admin process.

Thank goodness! I was getting tired of policing this site in the middle of the night! I learned a lot of useful new things from some of those postings though. Nah, just kidding.

Yes, it does "look" like, to the general forum viewers. However, though "they" can't post until approved by Admin #1, they do sure sign up and are then shown on our forum members list. The more clever include in their profile websites that seem okay but will take you to a place you may not want to go. Other not so clever, alright just plain idiots, will include a website that tells you right there it is a porn place.

I personally delete and ban almost 1 daily and though it's been a while, this past weekend we had a barrage of such "newbies" signing on. When I see this happening at the time, I look at the IP of those people actually visiting our site. Any bonifide members will show who they are and of course, will not be banned. But when I see "guest", then that IP becomes suspect. I then look at the origin of such an IP and proceed accordingly. Obviously, if it says "cox.net" or the like, I give it a second chance as it may be a member in good standing that haven't logged on yet. However, I've recently banned an IP that originates from Russia! :-o

In the 5 minutes before I posted this, I banned about as many offenders. Yes, they have been pretty busy in the last few days! :x

So once again, if by change you fall in the "banned" round up, simply contact me or David by email or phone and we'll be glad to reinstate you.

Ivan,

I'm still banned at work.....whenever I'm behind the firewall, I can see the site, but I get the "banned" message when I access the forums.

Realizing that way too many people use hotmail & gmail addresses to register in our forums, we just now "un-banned" them. We'll have to be more vigilant for peddlers and ban them individually.
