I got mine with the “HERO” program. Goobernment fronts the money, you pay it back through your mortgage in escrow. I paid it off on the last ReFi. Last year I ran the AC for over 2 weeks straight, 24 hours a day during the heat wave. Still ended up with a credit of $10.

Curious, what is your guys monthly payment on the system?
During the heat wave we had a $350 utility bill!

For electricity you pay nothing each month. Once a year you get this true up bill to settle the accounts. $350/month would have me looking hard at solar.

Just do realize that it isn’t for everyone! Your house has to be positioned and “cleared” of obstruction in order to maximize sun access. :-s

I was mostly wondering what your monthly payment for the solar install is. That $350 was back in July and August when we were running the AC.

We paid for ours in full when it was installed, thus our payment on the system is $0.

Dan, My neighbor installed a system a few years ago I believe (not 100% sure)
their payment is around $225.00. My other neighbor is a solar contractor and of coarse installs systems.
Let me know if you want his number!!

FWIW... as time goes by, the cheaper (or less expensive!) everything goes.
