Keep an eye out for discount/america's tire specials. They always have some great rebates around memorial day, july 4th and labor day.
Plus, if you go with 14"s then you can easily do the 27/8.5/14 tires.

Thanks for the heads up. I just need to talk to the Discount Tire to talk them down on the install fee. $20 a tire is ridiculous.

I really like this tire...

I ran into Serg at my local "Tire Shop", he had 4 tires mounted, balanced and installed on the SC for $40 \:D/

I bought two 205/70/15 NEW $160 mounted, balanced and installed on LPZCMPR \:D/

Thanks David. I plan on shopping around and seeing if Discount will come down on that price since there are several tire shops in Vista that would mount and balance the tires for less.

So since converting to 12v I never swapped over the oil filler from the generator stand to the alternator stand. After 2 days of trying to break loose the nut, I started searching for a whole new stock piece. I called Earl and he told me to use heat. So I did and 10 minutes later I had the filler off. I then installed it on the alternator stand. Now the camper is complete and ready to be driven.

I also adjusted the fan belt since I felt it was too tight. So now I just need to start driving it to feel comfortable and also work on the ground issue with my idiot light for the alternator. I have to wiggle the wire at the speedometer to get it to light up before I start the bus. I would be afraid that it would not light up in the event that something happens while driving it.

Is that contact behind the speedometer clean? Have you replaced the connector? Crimped it a bit so it is tight?

Seems like there should be an easy solution.*

(*although usually not in my world.)

I did not take the speedometer out so I have no idea on the condition of the metal for the light bulb holder. I can say that the bulb holder is clean. I will see about maybe swapping out the bulb holder to see if that changes the behavior. The wire connector is pretty tight on the bulb holder.

I wanted to get AT but just can't spend that much right now. Got basic Kumho 205/70/15 60,000 mile tires similar to the ones already on the camper.

I know what you mean the BF Goodrich AT's are costly.
They are costly when you have a family and costly when you are retired!!

so got a call that the tires I ordered were discontinued and they cannot get any in stock. They then suggested a tire that was $30 more per tire. Told him no thanks. I'll find another tire at another shop.

there is a guy in Escondido selling 2 BF Goodrich AT tires (215-75-15) for $150. Used but in great shape. Almost new. My problem is trying to find a second 2 to go with them.

My tires are 205/70/15 like I am currently running.

So got to talking to the guy at Discount Tire and we decided it was best I did not buy the tires since they were standard load. Since it is a camper it needs the Extra Load tires. So back to the drawing board again.

What as the load rating of the tire? I got Kumho 205/70-15s from Discount with a 97 load rating. Not heavy duty off road tires but plenty strong enough for the weight of my Bay.
