Here are pictures of our new camper/Parts Bus.
http://sv2s.com/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=283
http://sv2s.com/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=282

We just got it home (Thanks Webmaster) 8)

OK so what's the plan?
??????????????????????
What to do?
- Take the bumpers off, paint them (White) and put on club bus(Front and rear)
- The Motor needs to come out and completely gone through, "git er running" and put in club bus. First we must take Joe's motor out to give back to him (Thanks Joe)
- The Interior, needs to come out, cleaned up, resanded and revarnished/stained
- Once the interior is ready, install it back in the club bus, which will include the Z-bed

So this is the plan as of now.
What are we going to do with the bus after will be determined at a later time.

Joe and Aaron have first dibs since they played a HUGE part in getting the bus, and getting it home. We'll figure out the rest in an orderly manner.

Either way, this will make a great story for the newsletter.

When? Where? What time?
Maybe this weekend probably, on Sunday.

I know we wont be able to get all this accomplished in one day but it will be a good start

Click below for pictures of the bus
http://www.sv2s.com/forum/album_cat.php?cat_id=14

We had to...........The parts on the bus went to good homes. More members benefited from all the parts we saved, than if we would of kept it intact.

The club bus got a motor, new bumpers, wiring harness, z-bed, and new cabinets and interior.

We only got to tear down this weekend, and hope to work on the club bus next weekend 9/25 Sunday.

I'll post more pictures soon.

Was that thing a walkthru? Did anyone claim the passenger side seat back if so?

What's with those seats? Looks like the ones from my old Catholic elementary school.

Aaron ended up with the front end, so you'll have to talk to him about the parts

The motor that came in the parts bus LIVES!!!!!!!!!!
Barry came over today and got it going. I kinda helped but mainly watched  in amazement with his contraptions to start the motor on the ground, The one's I've seen are more Hi-Tech stuff that some vendors sell. His stuff was home made but real cooool

Anyways, he's gonna buy the tune up parts for the motor, and on Sunday he'll get it running properly and we'll install it on the club bus.

Joe your motor will be yours again this Sunday.

We're still gonna need people to come on over and help!!!!!

Part 2 this sunday at 10am people

I'll be there, will you?

Man, time flies even when you are NOT having fun!

Funny that I am reviving this over a year old thread! But I just stumbled unto an old picture and did not want to start a new thread for it. :?

It's funny because we were very recently discussing the "needs" of the club's bus and here I see it in all its glory and "pre"-stickered! :o

Image

Also, that's a very "fresh" Dormy top on my bus! 8)

This picture was taken on Christmas morning a mere 3 years ago. I call it "Misty", but as you can see it was down right WET!

With the recent "upgrade" to the interior of the club bus I was looking for a "club bus" thread and this is the only one I found. However, it is in the Transporter Talk forum and I was wondering if it should be either in the Club Chat or more apptly in the Technical Forum since the "talk" around it is what it's being done to it and like that!?! :???:

Anyway, yesterday the "bed/seat" was being refurbished to a full width type. Being a non-westy mechanism, there was some clearing issues with the seatback panel and it was cut at an angle so as to clear when opening it. I just saw a pix in thesamba's gallery and thought maybe it can be cut "straight" though this will make it a bit narrower overall. I think it will look better AND provide for some extra side storage area like the ones in my Dormy.

I can't find the list of parts needed to get the 1776 running on the club bus. I was willing to offer my driveway and garage for a work on the club bus day. I thought we could try to get the 1776 in before the Classic. We could do it on June 3rd? The 2nd is that show thing we are going to so thats out, and next weekend is a holiday. I might be able to swing that Saturday if we could get the people to show up and knock this thing out. Bill says he has a lot of the parts needed. We need to post a list of what we need and what Bill has and see if we are close to getting that engine running.

Does this interest anyone? Or is this too much wishing this close to the show? :???:

We could work on the bus and do a BBQ later with the wives and girlfriends. :?:
