Here's a few teasers:

Second night Yogi got to my cooler. I had it pinned under the trailer but he managed to pull it out and flip it though with the strap around it he could not open it. All was safe... for now!

On the way to Bodie.

Horse crossing.

Image

Day prowling Yogi got into our trash can!!!

Image

On our way back Saturday, fire just off June Lake!!!

Image
Image

Stopped in Bishop for gas. While there this woman walks up to me and says "Ivan?" and I'm like
Turns out a cousin from New Jersey was in Reno and on her way to Simi Valley!!! What are the chances???!!??? :-o

Image

On our way to Mentone, riding in Chris' bus. Yes, the Dormy cought up a $hit on the right weber causing it to actually catch FIRE!!!! :-x
Deader than dead on the side of the 395 road just south of Independence (googoolit). The 200 mile tow would only get me to around Mentone which is where Johnny Salazar of VTO president fame has a huge compound.

Image

We arrived in Mentone around 8:30pm. Johnny and company were superb hosts! They provided me with a 34PICT3, single carb manifold and end castings so I could swap that with the dual carbs. With that, I let Chris go home around 10:00pm and I was to spend the night sleeping in the Dormy, fix it in the morning and drive home. :-/

Image
Image

The Dormy finally showed up at 1:30am!!! Johnny and his crew stayed up with me all night up until then!!! The VTO family seriously ROCKS!!!! =D>

Had a beer and went to sleep. Got up around 6:00am, fixed my coffee and got on with the swap. Sweating like a pig as the sun rose and was beating on my back. About 8:00am, they offered me breakfast which I politely decline since I really wanted to git'R'done. They also brought an E-Z up to "shade" me which was extremely welcomed! Finished buttoning it all up by 11:00am and got on my way home. It ran hotter with the lack of carburation on the big motor but at least it got me home. 8-[

More pix to follow...

When we pulled over smoke was coming out the the vents in the engine compartment, Ivan yells,
get a fire extinguisher, well I was the only one with one and before I left I made sure it was handy
thankful we didn't need it!! It was all part of the adventure!!
I had a blast, great place to spend a week. Yogi's, bambi's, hiking, fishing, boating, shopping (well at Ken's sporting),
trail bashing, relaxation, and of coarse cigars and libations in moderation!!
The trip up and back was looong!! The last 2 hrs of the trip up I was doubting weather it was worth it???

IT WAS!!!!!

until next year!!

Well since Ivan let the cat out of the bag, I'll start the narrative:

We left for Twin Lakes early in the evening on Saturday, and got to the campground at about 3AM on Sunday morning, apparently one of us was able to fall asleep in his bus, fully clothed in about 2 nanoseconds after arrival.

Up early Sunday to make camp, here are some pictures to add to Ivan's pics of our campground:

Typical dinner at camp:

Random bus pictures around Twin Lakes, beautiful place really:

Yogi visited us both by daylight and starlight, here is a picture of his friend Boo Boo

Fishing off the boat on Upper Twin was great, relaxing, if not very fruitful (both Chris and I were able to coax the trout from the lake, even if Chris did beat me):

Image
Image

Hiking up to the waterfall was a vigorous good time:

On the way home Ivan made some friends with a local CHP officer and Tow Truck driver, while Chris took the opportunity to relax on the side of the 395.

Once I remember how to post video's I'll throw a few up from my GoPro, we did have a blast, looking forward to next year already...

This is site # 14 F. Ideal for a club campsite! Huge with plenty of room to set up over 6 buses. Bear locker, a couple of streams running right next to it, restroom within 15 to 20 yards, flat and secluded.

At Ridgeport.

On our way back to camp we spotted a fire over this ridge! I worried it would get out of hand because it would come over the only road in and out of Twin Lakes!!!
