SV2's,

Thanks for once again putting on a top notch show. It really reflects on the quality of your organization and if I ever move to the San Diego area I'd definitely like to be involved. Sadly, I've almost given up on car shows (which I used to be passionate about). However, there is a engraved place in my heart for this event and I wouldn't miss it for anything. It's the only show I've entered our car in this year for a reason.

Thank you from myself and my family, Chris Kight

That right there makes it all worth while!

I know I didn't have time to take pictures. I hope someone else did but Russell posted a link for pictures. I know I posted some of those pictures in the busted thread.

I screwed up when I was announcing the "Thank You" list. I forgot to thank a very important crew that helped with our show before the show even happened.

I would like to thank the San Diego Air Cool Syndicate for all their support and taking the time to show for the taping of the KUSI interview. Thank you to all that participated in the interview and the show. I would like to thank all that helped the day of the show. It was nice to have a club outside of SV2s come in and help out when needed. I failed to announce this on the P.A. during the awards and raffle and I apologize. Next year they will NOT be forgotten.

Yes, I saw those. Very nice. I just hope some of the other attendees post up pictures from the show.

That site is just way too laborious to deal with.
Where were all the point-and-shoot cameras? Doesn't anyone besides Suebug take regular pictures at shows anymore? And post them the night of the show?

Jim Beam's publicity stunt of selling whisky in bottles that look like cars and other things was brilliant. People who aren't bottle collectors still buy the ones that pertain to their hobby, they are that well made

Well Sue...of the SV2s members that were are at the show and working (and a number of non-SV2s members that were there and working) there was not a lot of time to wander around and take pictures. I had about 20 minutes "off" all day to get some food and make a quick swing through FF. My camera never got out of my pocket.

Glad that Jesse was able to photo document the event.

And a huge THANK YOU to Julie for running the registration & vote counting. Props to Teresa too for a big assist at the table. (Both of them had to put up with a marginally useful assistant (me) and did well despite my fumbles.) And thanks to Rob for writing a really cleaver spreadsheet to electronically take care of the vote counting.
Julie - I have a solution to prevent the double issuing of numbers. Before the next event I will print up self adhesive labels with the entry numbers (a-1,2,3...f-1,2,3, etc.). We peel off a label and stick it on the entrants info sheet and no more duplicates.

Look once again we ran the show with a minimum crew. We did not have a bunch of volunteers so we did what we could do. Sue had already stated way before hand that she could not make it for a clear reason (not an excuse). She offered her help where she could before the show and we will leave it at that. Bill got stuck at the kiddie area (thanks again for not complaining). All in all regardless of how the show ran and what did not get done (like pictures) the show was a huge success and everyone enjoyed it. I know I did.

I think the biggest issue was that we all got there at 7am and so did the show cars due to the flyer. Next year we will make sure that the show cars show up later than us so we have time to setup before everyone gets there. I think this will be key for the success of next year. Also the simple fact that we will have spots for everyone to be assigned to and they will stick with it until it is time to rotate.

Sorry I COULDN'T make it, and hope I didn't leave anyone hanging. My sister in the ICU trumps any and all VW activities. Looks like I missed a great show, but there are always more... and I only have one sister. Dave

I don't see any post for the winner, I know who took commercial bus but how about the rest.
Not to mention the great job John and the rest of the crew that put this together.
