Hi everyone!... I know this might seem a bit early for this, but I need to get a basic count on participation in this event by club members. I hope a lot (if not all
) of you will come join in at this fun event!. This will be the 3rd entry for our buses in this parade. The 1st year we had 7-8 buses, last year we had 20-21. I need to let the city know the total for staging purposes. There will be non-club buses in attendance as well, so a club count would be really helpful. Also, this is a good opportunity to recruit new members for SV2s.
This event is televised, and the people attending the parade as well as the city government really love our buses, and they show it. Last year we were invited back, and this year the LF Mayor sent a letter asking for our attendance. Sue, William, Rob and family, Ken and his wife, HDF and family attended last year, and had (I think) a great time. If the club bus can attend, it will take the lead spot of the entry. Since this is the club event for july, It will be announed on tv coverage that the entry is "Strictly Vintage 2s". Directly after the parade, there will be a potluck/picnic, which I hope all will attend as well.
Just to be clear, this event welcomes all pre-'67 type 2s, as well as all bay buses. Some may not agree with this, but you can't please everyone. I am again co-ordinating this event with sue's help (and any others who'd like to), and am anticipating 25-30+ buses total.
