Now I can understand why J. was so nervous! How can you travel anywhere with bald tires??? It was a nice campout; especially enjoyed reconnecting with old members that I don't get to interact with since I've been flying...The ride home was a little nerve racking for me, but the stop at Dudley's for Hot Chocolate warmed our bones and we got to spend a few more minutes with Sergio and Maria. Thanks!

Well, its 5 and we have made it home, unpacked, and are settling in.

We had a great time and thank you all for the most interesting and fun Thanksgiving I have ever been to. The weather was crazy, but the food, drinks, and folks were second to none. Hats off to all of you and I look forward to many more years of this.

I still think we need shirts for all of us who made it through the 90+ mph winds ~~~

Man, what a night!! Almost 24 hours from when we left home, we're back home and we all just woke up from a 3 hour nap! To say I didn't get much sleep last night is an understatement. :???: I think we were up in the 90 mph winds, taking down our awning. Jana was awesome under pressure! No way I could have done that by myself. That think was flapping like a loose sail.

Friday's dinner was an awesome International affair. Wish there were leftovers of all of it for dinner tonight.

We followed a Caltrans snow plow up Banner grade, slow and steady, and I didn't mind one bit. Take your time, buddy, I'm not gonna go much faster anyway.

To say this was an interesting first outing in our new camper is an understatement! We'll be poppin' it back up tomorrow to let it air out. We told Makena we could have pancakes in it for breakfast!

Good seeing long time friends and meeting new ones. Glad to hear people got home safe. We were gonna call and warn ya about the snow, but there's really no way around the mountains to get home...

So, how many of you had working heaters on that drive back? My toes are cold from just looking at the pictures.

This Thanksgiving weekend experience reminds me of the weekend at the Hot Springs that ended in a crazy drive through falling snow on the 2 and the 8. (Remember a certain someone who brought an electric blanket into his tent on one very cold night?)

Seriously, it sounds like you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend with friends. Good for you.

I hope everyone got home safe.

Thankfully, we all did, bald tires and all...The food was awesome and as Bill said, an international affair. We had the traditional thanksgiving day fare and then some. The fireside chat was also entertaining. As I said on FB-it's always an adventure when you leave your house! That's why I enjoy going out. You never know what you're going to encounter or who you're going to meet!

Well my heater works great until the outside temp drops to around 40 deg then all I get is cool air. In Saturdays mobile evac I wanted to see the Bad Lands. Boy did I pick a brutile day for that trip. Once Joe and I got on the 8 fwy all hell broke loose. At the first summit cars involved in icy road accidents where everywhere. As a mater of fact every where there was snow, there was accidents. Speeders! I told myself that if I survived that morning I would never go that route again. As the saying goes, been there, done that, but won't do it again. What a trip. However other than the trip home, it was a great week end. Great food, great freinds. Thanks again Pyro for trying to save my easyup.
