My son has been bitten by the bug, VW Bug, that is. Does anyone know of a good Bug for sale? He's a natural for a VW owner as he's mechanically-inclined and enjoys the satisfaction of doing his own work. He's checking on the Samba, but I thought I'd ask if anyone in SV2s knows of a Bug for sale.
Thanks.

First off and right away: My Bug is NOT for sale!!!! [-X

I just want to say that this is a great opportunity for the both of you and wish you the best of luck in finding one in as good a condition as possible!!! Highly suggest to get one "solid" but not necessarily "running" as they should be cheaper and any time you see the statement "new motor", almost always that "new motor" will not last long! You say he likes doing his own work, perfect! Building an engine and firing it up on the first try is a very unique feeling and great one to experience. He will never regret it and may have a car for the rest of his life. Again, good luck!

Thanks, Ivan. Your voice of experience speaks. Points well-taken. I'm sure he's open to building his own motor as he already has had a taste of it with his motorcycle, but, of course, it would be nice to start out with one that runs. We'll see.

He's not looking for a bug in the 70s, no supers. Can you believe it, my son likes lowered bugs?...lol. I don't know about his money at this point; I think he wants to find one and then deal with that. He's a working stiff just like the rest of us...er, not me though...lol.
