The discussion was brought up today at the planning meeting on how to make the monthly meeting more member friendly, i.e. the ability for more members to attend. It is understood that the time and traffic have made it hard on some to make it on time, or even make it at all.

Therefore, we are asking for everyone's opinion on what makes the meeting difficult to attend and your thoughts on how to make it more accessible.

holding the meeting during the week makes it less family friendly since those of us that have kids have to worry about our kids going to school the next day. So if we go then we go solo which means little to no time with the kids that night. I suggest it be moved back to Friday nights as it was a nice way to kick off the weekend.

Also holding it out in El Centro is one hell of a drive. Dan lives in Hillcrest  and Slayer works in Hillcrest (don't ask him what he does there  ) so why not hold it at one of their spots?

OK OK the meetings are not in El Centro (joke) and Dan and Chris (slayer) are very close to Hillcrest. Bringing it back to more of a central location and not east county might help. Since I am one of the very few north county people, I don't mind driving down there to the meetings.

So to be clear, I vote to move the days to Friday and move it to a member's house (or work place) to make it more enjoyable.

I enjoy hosting the meeting at the restaurant!

That being said:
I rarely go because i'm there so much as it is already.
Week nights are tough for kids in a "family club".
The 8 freeway can be tough that time of night.
The room is not available on weekends.

Please don't think you will hurt my feelings by changing, I have no feelings.

We use to meet at a Pizza joint in Clairemont, I can't remember why we changed?

When it was at Coco's it was nice ONLY because of the location. A little bit more central and also missed the traffic that is on the 15 south right after the 15/163 split. ](*,) The 8 sucks period. Again, my biggest vote is to move the nights back to Friday.

It was WAY TOO FREAKEN LOUD, not to mention the lack of a room for meetings.

Wednesdays are tough I agree. I live down the street and I can't make the Wed meetings.

Friday would be the best but finding a restaurant with a large enough meeting room to accommodate to the group will be difficult.

I think we need to take a two step approach to this......
First, move the meetings to Friday and for the meantime, have a member host it(I would be willing to host one)

Second, look for a more central and suitable location while we continue to meet.

to add to this that supports moving to Friday is the after school activities and sports that our kids have. Most are Monday through Thursday which leave Fridays open usually.

Over 100 views and only 4 people have replied? Hoping to get more responses as we are looking to make the meeting more accessible for members. So far it looks like to day/time is the main issue... but please chime in if you feel there are other issues (i.e. location, meeting format, food, people you don't like at the meeting  , etc).

I suggest that the San Diego chapter meeting is held in my back yard, so Suebug and I can officially join the San Diego Chapter.

I will provide pizza and beer.

That is all.

We'll provide our own pizza and beer... all you have to do is move your back yard down to our county!

OK how about you are all invited to meet in my backyard then? You still bring the pizza and beer and I will provide the backyard (or front yard) for all to meet.

Whatever happens, the NEXT meeting must be at MC since it's way too short a notice to change. An "official" decison is to be made and then informed to all members prior to the move. :-k

Julie and I like the idea of moving the meeting to Friday night, we can use this as the primary requirement. I think meeting the first Friday of the month is a good idea, but we could be flexible on that. The second or third Friday of the month would work ok. Although I enjoyed the January meeting being at Ivan's, I think as a general rule the meeting location should be the same each month. This way we don't have to worry about communicating the location each month.

Is this poll still going to go out in the newsletter so those that do not use/see the forums can wager in?

I liked Ivan's place too but dang that is way East county. I thought I some a ton of Arizona license plates in that area.

Heading East on the 8 will not be fun. How about we hold it at Rob and Julie's place?
