I'm going to need to get some Idea's for some chapter events for this year?
April? Bob Baker was moved to may.
May- Bob Baker
June- The OCTO classic weekend
July?
August- Familienfest
September?
October?
November?
December- Christmas party

I'm thinking maybe a bonfire and or beach day, maybe July?
Members appreciation picnic? I liked Doheny Beach, can include Orange county, November?
How about a halloween cruise night in October?
Maybe camping or a road rally?
Cruise and tour of Temecula or Orange or ?
Palm Springs trip & camp would be fun. (haven't been since they installed the new cars on the tram)
Please bring your idea's and or suggestions to the chapter meeting.
If you know other members, call them and remind them of the meeting.
Thanks, Russell

I am aiming for a bonfire in April (assuming it doesn't rain anymore) in Oceanside by the harbor. A bonfire or beach day in July sounds good. I like the Halloween cruise in October.

La Mesa Boo Parade in October. I know some people have done it and since the red truck is no longer dead, I want to do it this year! If work doesn't send me out of town again that weekend.

OB Xmas Parade in December. 1st weekend, right? With our xmas party the 2nd weekend?

November is the Thanksgiving campout. Maybe the family and I will make it out one of these years.

I do know off a camping area that is under tall pines and open area. The only tough part it's up around Frazier Park (Grapevine) area. Place is called Mutau Flats. If interested I will check on it.

http://www.hikercentral.com/campgrounds/114736.html

Good parts
Under tall pines
Cost is free, no fees. Federal land.
Better to go up early summer
With this years rains, the stream should have water
Folks from Ventura and Tahachapi could join us
Safe area from derelicts

Tough parts
Somewhat long drive (half way to bakersfield from LA)
Dry camping
Not sure about fires

I know it does not sound to exciting, but where else can a group safely gather for free and without reservations. The countryside is very pretty too.

I'm down !! Frazier park is only an hour plus from Tehachapi !!
I can ask the local Fire Station about the fire pit rules. If its on Federal USFS land, I will find out what permits you would need.
